Nusantara Day, observed every December 13, reaffirms and reminds us that Indonesia is the world's largest archipelagic country and aims to enhance its existing potential, especially Indonesia's extraordinary maritime potential. Nusantara Day 2016 was held in Lembata, NTT, and attended by over 9,000 people. The event was opened by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, representing the President of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Minister of Home Affairs, Tjahjo Kumolo, who also served as the chairman of Nusantara Day 2016.
